حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَبُو الْيَمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ نُفَيْعِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَعْقِلٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَقْضِيَ بَيْنَ قَوْمٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا أَحْسَنَ أَنْ أَقْضِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اللَّهُ مَعَ الْقَاضِي مَا لَمْ يَحِفْ عَمْدًا.

al-Hakam ibn Nafi', Abu al-Yaman, told us: Isma'il ibn Ayyash told us, from Abu Shaybah Yahya ibn Yazid, from Zayd ibn Abi Unaysah, from Nufay' ibn al-Harith, from Ma'qil al-Muzani, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to judge between a group of people, so I said: "How could I judge well, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Allah is with the judge as long as he does not deliberately act unjustly."
