Abu Kamil told us, Hammad told us, from Humayd, from al-Hasan, from Samurah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pause twice: when entering the prayer and when finishing the recitation. Imran ibn Husayn denied this, so they wrote to Ubayy ibn Ka'b asking him about it, and he wrote back that Samurah had spoken the truth.
