Yazid narrated to us, Bahz ibn Hakim informed us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "No man comes to his patron and asks him for surplus he has, and he refuses it to him, except that on the Day of Resurrection a serpent will be summoned for him, licking its lips over the surplus he withheld."
