Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Abdullah ibn Subayh, who said: I heard Muhammad ibn Sirin say: They mentioned before Imran ibn Husayn that the dead is punished because of the weeping of the living, so they said: "How can the dead be punished for the weeping of the living?" Imran said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, indeed said it."
