Muhammad ibn Jafar narrated to us, Said narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Mutarrif ibn Abdullah, who said: Imran ibn Husayn sent for me during his illness, and I went to him. He said to me: 'I used to narrate hadiths to you, hoping that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, might benefit you with them after me. Know that greetings of peace were being conveyed to me (from the angels). If I live, keep this confidential; if I die, then narrate it if you wish. And know that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) combined Hajj and Umrah together, then no verse of the Quran was revealed prohibiting it, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not forbid it. A man gave his personal opinion about it as he wished.' Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Mamar informed us, from Qatadah, from Mutarrif, who said: Imran ibn Husayn said to me — and he mentioned a similar narration — and said: 'Do not narrate these two things until I die.'
