حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَن قَتَادَةَ عَن أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو مُوسَى يَا بُنَيَّ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصَابَنَا الْمَطَرُ وَجَدْتَ مِنَّا رِيحَ الضَّأْنِ.

Sulayman ibn Dawud told us: Abu Awanah told us, from Qatadah, from Abu Burdah, who said: Abu Musa said to me, "O my son, if only you had seen us with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the rain struck us, you would have found in us the smell of sheep."
