Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us: al-Faraj narrated to us: Luqman narrated to us, from Abu Umamah, from Amr ibn Abasah al-Sulami, who said: I said to him, "Tell us a hadith you heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with nothing diminished or doubtful in it." He said: I heard him say, "Whoever has three children born to him in Islam who die before reaching the age of discernment, Allah, Mighty and Sublime, will admit him to Paradise through His mercy toward them. And whoever turns gray with a single gray hair in the way of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, that reaches the enemy, whether it hits or misses, it will be for him like the freeing of a slave. And whoever frees a believing slave, Allah will free, for every limb of him, a limb of him from the Fire. And whoever spends a pair of something in the way of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, then Paradise has eight gates, and Allah, Mighty and Sublime, will admit him through whichever gate of it He wishes."
