Yahya narrated to us: Shu’bah narrated to us: Simak narrated to us, from Muriyy ibn Qatariyy, from Adi ibn Hatim, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father used to maintain family ties and honor the guest, and did such and such." He said, "Your father sought something and he attained it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I shoot game and find nothing to slaughter it with except a sharp stone or a stick." He said, "Let the blood flow with whatever you wish, then mention the name of Allah, Mighty and Sublime." I said, "There is food I abstain from only out of scruple." He said, "Whatever resembles something Christian, leave it."
