Hushaym narrated to us: Mujalid and Zakariyya and others informed us, from al-Sha’bi, from Adi ibn Hatim, who said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about hunting with the mi’rad (a blunt throwing-stick). He said, "What it strikes with its sharp edge and pierces, eat it; but what it strikes with its broad side and kills, that is a beast killed by a blow, so do not eat it."
