حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامٌ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ الْقَارِئُ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَوْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالرَّجُلِ الْوَاحِدِ إِذَا وَجِعَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ جَسَدِهِ.

Mu'awiyah ibn Abdullah ibn Mu'awiyah ibn Asim ibn al-Mundhir ibn al-Zubayr told us: Sallam Abu al-Mundhir al-Qari' told us: Asim ibn Bahdalah told us, from al-Sha'bi, or Khaythamah, from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The likeness of the Muslims is like a single body — when one part of it aches, the rest of the body responds to it with sleeplessness and fever.
