حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ قُلْنَا لِزَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ حَدِّثْنَا قَالَ كَبُرْنَا وَنَسِينَا وَالْحَدِيثُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَدِيدٌ.

Affan told us: Shu'bah told us, from Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: We said to Zayd ibn Arqam, Tell us. He said: We have grown old and forgotten, and narrating from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is a grave matter.
