حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَوْدِيُّ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ بُنِيَ الْإِسْلَامُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَحَجِّ الْبَيْتِ وَصِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ.

Makki told us: Dawud ibn Yazid al-Awdi told us, from Amir, from Jarir ibn Abdullah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "Islam is built upon five: testifying that there is no god but Allah, establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, pilgrimage to the House, and fasting Ramadan."
