حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ حُجْرِ بْنِ عَنْبَسٍ عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ.

Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr told us: Sufyan told us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Hujr ibn Anbas, from Wa'il ibn Hujr, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give the greeting of peace to his right and to his left.
