Yahya ibn Zakariyya ibn Abi Za'idah told us: Abu Malik al-Ashja'i told me: Nubayt ibn Sharit told me, who said: I was riding behind my father during the Farewell Pilgrimage when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke, so I stood on the rear of the mount and placed my hand on my father's shoulder, and I heard him say: Which day is sacred? They said, This day. He said, Which land is sacred? They said, This land. He said, Which month is sacred? They said, This month. He said, Then your blood and your wealth are sacred to you as this day of yours is sacred, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I conveyed the message? They said, Yes. He said, O Allah, bear witness. O Allah, bear witness.
