حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأُنَاسٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ فَاهْدُوا السَّبِيلَ وَرُدُّوا السَّلَامَ وَأَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ و قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَن شُعْبَةَ قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ مِنْ الْبَرَاءِ.

Abu Sa'id said, Shu'bah said: I heard Abu Ishaq narrating from al-Bara', who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by some people of the Ansar in their gatherings and said: "If you must do so, then guide to the way, return the greeting, and help the one who is wronged." And Muhammad ibn Ja'far said, from Shu'bah: Abu Ishaq said, from al-Bara', but Abu Ishaq did not hear it from al-Bara'.
