حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ مِنْ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَوْمٍ جُلُوسٍ فِي الطَّرِيقِ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ فَاهْدُوا السَّبِيلَ وَرُدُّوا السَّلَامَ وَأَغِيثُوا الْمَظْلُومَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ وَأَعِينُوا قَالَ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ أَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ قَالَ أَبِي و حَدَّثَنَاه أَسْوَدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ وَقَالَ أَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ وَكَذَا قَالَ حَسَنٌ أَعِينُوا وَعَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ.

Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Affan told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from Abu Ishaq—Affan said: Abu Ishaq informed us, from al-Bara', and Abu Ishaq did not hear it from al-Bara'—who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a group sitting in the road and said, "If you must do so, then guide people along the way, return the greeting of peace, and rescue the wronged"—Affan said: "and help." My father said: Abu Sa'id told us this: Shu'bah told us: I heard Abu Ishaq say, "Help the wronged." My father said: and Aswad told us this: Isra'il told us: Abu Ishaq told us, from al-Bara', and he said, "Help the wronged," and Hasan said likewise, "Help," and from Isra'il.
