Affan told us: Shu'bah told us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard al-Bara' say: A man recited Surat al-Kahf while he had a riding animal tethered, and the animal began to shy. The man looked at a cloud, or mist, that had enveloped him, and he became frightened, so he went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. I said, "Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, name that man?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Recite, so-and-so, for tranquility descended for the Qur'an," or "at the Qur'an."
