حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ حَدَّثَ بِحَدِيثٍ وَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَاذِبِينَ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَذَّابِينَ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَاذِبِينَ.

Waki' told us, Sufyan told us — and Abd al-Rahman told us, from Sufyan — from Habib, from Maymun ibn Abi Shabib, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever narrates a hadith while believing it to be false is one of the liars." Abd al-Rahman said: "is one of the liars." Bahz ibn Asad told us, Shu'bah told us, Habib ibn Abi Thabit told us, and he mentioned something similar, saying "is one of the liars."
