حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَامًا فَأَخْبَرَنَا بِمَا يَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَعَاهُ مَنْ وَعَاهُ وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ.

Makki ibn Ibrahim told us, Hashim — that is, ibn Hashim — told us, from Umar ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, stood among us on one occasion and told us what would happen to his nation until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever retained it, retained it, and whoever forgot it, forgot it.
