Waki' told us, Mis'ar told us, from Abu Sakhrah Jami' ibn Shaddad, from Mughirah ibn Abdullah, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: I was a guest of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, one night. He ordered a side of meat to be roasted, then took the knife and began cutting pieces of it for me. Bilal came to notify him of the prayer, so he threw down the knife and said, "What is the matter with him — may his hands be covered in dust!" Mughirah said: My mustache had grown long, and the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, trimmed it for me with a tooth-stick, or he said, "I will trim it for you with a tooth-stick."
