حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ آخِذًا بِحُجْزَةِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سَهْلٍ فَقَالَ يَا سُفْيَانُ بْنَ أَبِي سَهْلٍ لَا تُسْبِلْ إِزَارَكَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلِينَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ.

Hajjaj told us, Sharik told us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, who said: I saw the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, take hold of the waist-wrap of Sufyan ibn Abi Sahl and say, "O Sufyan ibn Abi Sahl, do not let your lower garment trail below your ankles, for God does not love those who let their garments trail." Yazid told us, Sharik informed us, from Abd al-Malik, from Husayn ibn Uqbah, from al-Mughirah. Musa ibn Dawud told us, from Qabisah ibn Jabir, from al-Mughirah. Abu al-Nadr told us, from Husayn, from al-Mughirah.
