حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَنَحْنُ مُحْرِمُونَ وَقَدْ حَصَرَنَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ وَكَانَتْ لِي وَفْرَةٌ فَجَعَلَتْ الْهَوَامُّ تَسَّاقَطُ عَلَى وَجْهِي فَمَرَّ بِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَيُؤْذِيكَ هَوَامُّ رَأْسِكَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَحْلِقَ قَالَ وَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ { فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيضًا أَوْ بِهِ أَذًى مِنْ رَأْسِهِ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِنْ صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ }.

It was narrated to us by Hushaym, who said: it was reported to us by Abu Bishr, from Mujahid, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ka'b ibn Ujrah, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at al-Hudaybiyah, in a state of ritual consecration (ihram), while the polytheists had barred our way. I had thick hair, and the vermin began falling onto my face. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by me and said, "Is the vermin on your head bothering you?" I said, "Yes." So he commanded him to shave. He said, "And this verse was revealed: {And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head, then a ransom of fasting, charity, or sacrifice}."
