حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ ثَنَا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّهُ أَلَيْسَ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ قَدْ مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّكَ وَقَدْ اسْتَعْمَلَكَ فَقَالَ قَدْ اسْتَعْمَلَنِي فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي أَحُبًّا كَانَ لِي مِنْهُ أَوْ اسْتِعَانَةً بِي وَلَكِنْ سَأُحَدِّثُكَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّهُمَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَعَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Aswad b. 'Amir told us, he said: Jarir — meaning Ibn Hazim — told us, he said: I heard al-Hasan say: A man said to 'Amr b. al-'As: "Do you not think that a man whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) died loving was a righteous man?" He said: "Indeed." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) died loving you, and he had appointed you to authority." He said: "He did appoint me. By Allah, I do not know whether it was out of love for me or a need to make use of me. But I shall tell you of two men whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) died loving: 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud and 'Ammar b. Yasir."
