حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ قَالَ صَحِبَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ فِي سَفَرٍ فَجَعَلَ لَا يَؤُمُّنَا قَالَ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ أَلَا تَؤُمُّنَا وَأَنْتَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَمَّ النَّاسَ فَأَصَابَ الْوَقْتَ وَأَتَمَّ الصَّلَاةَ فَلَهُ وَلَهُمْ وَمَنْ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَعَلَيْهِ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
'Ali b. 'Asim told us, he said: 'Abd al-Rahman b. Harmala told me, from Abu 'Ali al-Hamdani, who said: "'Uqba b. 'Amir accompanied us on a journey, and he refrained from leading us in prayer. We said to him: 'May Allah have mercy on you, will you not lead us, when you are one of the Companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?' He said: 'No. For I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever leads the people in prayer and gets the time right and completes the prayer, it counts for him and for them; and whoever falls short of that, it is against him and not against them.'"
