حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَحَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ الْجُهَنِيُّ قَالَ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَصَابَتْنَا مَجَاعَةٌ فَنَزَلْنَا بِأَرْضٍ كَثِيرَةِ الضِّبَابِ فَاتَّخَذْنَا مِنْهَا فَطَبَخْنَا فِي قُدُورِنَا فَسَأَلْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أُمَّةٌ فُقِدَتْ أَوْ مُسِخَتْ شَكَّ يَحْيَى وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ فَأَمَرَنَا فَأَكْفَأْنَا الْقُدُورَ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ مُسِخَتْ فَأَخْشَى أَنْ تَكُونَ هَذِهِ فَأَكْفَأْنَاهَا وَإِنَّا لَجِيَاعٌ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from al-A'mash, and Waki' told us, he said al-A'mash told me - in meaning - from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Abdul Rahman ibn Hasanah - Waki' said: al-Juhani - who said: We went on campaign with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and hunger struck us, so we camped in a land abounding with lizards. We took some of them and cooked them in our pots. We asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: A nation went missing, or was transformed - Yahya was uncertain - and Allah knows best - so he ordered us, and we overturned the pots. Waki' said: was transformed - I fear that this may be it, so we overturned them, though we were hungry.
