حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُمَيْرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنَ شُفْعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ الطَّاعُونَ وَقَعَ فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ إِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ فَتَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ وَقَالَ شُرَحْبِيلُ ابْنُ حَسَنَةَ إِنِّي قَدْ صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَمْرٌو أَضَلُّ مِنْ جَمَلِ أَهْلِهِ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَضَلُّ مِنْ بَعِيرِ أَهْلِهِ وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّهَا رَحْمَةُ رَبِّكُمْ وَدَعْوَةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ وَمَوْتُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَاجْتَمِعُوا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا عَنْهُ قَالَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Affan told us, Shu'bah told us: Yazid ibn Khumayr informed me, he said: I heard Shurahbil ibn Shuf'ah relating from Amr ibn al-'As that the plague broke out, and Amr ibn al-'As said: It is a scourge, so they scattered from it. And Shurahbil ibn Hasanah said: I indeed accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while Amr is more astray than his own family's young camel - and Shu'bah sometimes said more astray than his own family's camel - and it is a mercy from your Lord, a supplication of your Prophet, and the death of the righteous before you, so gather together and do not scatter from it. He said: That reached Amr ibn al-'As, and he said: He has spoken the truth.
