حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ.

Abu Amir narrated to us: Ali, meaning Ibn Mubarak, narrated to us, from Yahya, from Abu Salama, who said: Ja'far b. Amr b. Umayya informed me, from his father, that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiping over the leather socks.
