حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ نُفَيْلٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَئِمْتُ الْخَيْلَ وَأَلْقَيْتُ السِّلَاحَ وَوَضَعَتْ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا قُلْتُ لَا قِتَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْآنَ جَاءَ الْقِتَالُ لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَرْفَعُ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَ أَقْوَامٍ فَيُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ وَيَرْزُقُهُمْ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَلَا إِنَّ عُقْرَ دَارِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الشَّامُ وَالْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Al-Hakam ibn Nafi' told us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ayyash told us, from Ibrahim ibn Sulayman, from al-Walid ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Jurashi, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, that Salamah ibn Nufayl informed them that he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "I have grown weary of horses, I have laid down arms, and war has laid down its burdens; I said there is no more fighting." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: "Now has fighting come! A group of my nation will continue to prevail over the people; Allah will raise up the hearts of some peoples so that they fight them, and Allah will provide for them through them, until the command of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, comes while they remain thus. Indeed, the very heartland of the believers is Syria (al-Sham), and the horses have goodness tied in their forelocks until the Day of Resurrection."
