Struck through. 'Abdullah narrated to us, saying: I found this hadith in my father's book, in his own handwriting: Bakr ibn Yazid narrated to us - and I think I heard it from him in a study session but did not write it down; Bakr used to reside in Medina, and I think this was during the Inquisition (mihna) - this hadith had a line struck through it in his book. He said: Bakr ibn Yazid narrated to us: Abu Bakr, that is ibn Abi Maryam, informed us from 'Atiyya ibn Qays al-Kilabi: that Mu'awiya ibn Abi Sufyan said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The two eyes are the fastening-cord of the anus; when the eyes sleep, the cord is loosened.'
