حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْبِغَالِ وَالْحَمِيرِ.

Yazid ibn Abd Rabbihi told us: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid told us: Thawr ibn Yazid told me, from Salih ibn Yahya ibn al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib, from his father, from his grandfather, from Khalid ibn al-Walid, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade eating the meat of horses, mules, and donkeys.
