Yahya ibn Ghaylan said: al-Mufaddal — that is, Ibn Fadalah — told us, he said: Yahya ibn Ayyub told me, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmalah, from Sa'id ibn Iyas ibn Salamah ibn al-Akwa', that his father told him: that Salamah came to Medina, and Burayda ibn al-Husayb met him and said: "Have you turned back from your migration (hijrah), O Salamah?" He said: "God forbid! I am acting with permission from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Go out, O Aslam, breathe the open air, and dwell in the mountain passes.'" They said: "We fear, O Messenger of Allah, that this will harm our migration." He said: "You are emigrants wherever you may be."
