قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَجَاءَ عَيْنٌ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ يَتَصَبَّحُونَ فَدَعَوْهُ إِلَى طَعَامِهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ الرَّجُلُ رَكِبَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَذَهَبَ مُسْرِعًا لِيُنْذِرَ أَصْحَابَهُ قَالَ سَلَمَةُ فَأَدْرَكْتُهُ فَأَنَخْتُ رَاحِلَتَهُ وَضَرَبْتُ عُنُقَهُ فَغَنَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلَبَهُ.

He said: 'Abdullah ibn Yazid narrated to us, who said: 'Ikrimah ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, who said: Iyas ibn Salamah ibn al-Akwa' narrated to us, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, halted at a place, and a spy for the polytheists came, while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions were having their morning meal. They invited him to their food, and when the man had finished, he mounted his riding-camel and hurried away to warn his people. Salamah said: So I caught up with him and made his camel kneel and struck his neck, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, granted me his spoils as a special share.
