حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ ضَرْبَةٍ فِي سَاقِ سَلَمَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا مُسْلِمٍ مَا هَذِهِ الضَّرْبَةُ قَالَ هَذِهِ ضَرْبَةٌ أُصِبْتُهَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ يَوْمَ أُصِبْتُهَا قَالَ النَّاسُ أُصِيبَ سَلَمَةُ فَأُتِيَ بِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَفَثَ فِيهِ ثَلَاثَ نَفَثَاتٍ فَمَا اشْتَكَيْتُهَا حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ يَقُولُ خَرَجْتُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ مَكِّيٍّ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَالْيَوْمُ يَوْمُ الرُّضَّعِ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَأَرْدَفَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ.

Makki narrated to us, who said: Yazid ibn Abi 'Ubayd narrated to us, who said: I saw the mark of a wound on Salamah's leg, and I said: "O Abu Muslim, what is this wound?" He said: "This is a wound I received on the day of Khaybar." He said: "The day I was struck, people said, 'Salamah has been wounded,' and I was brought to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he blew on it three times, and I have not complained of it since, to this day." He said: Ibrahim ibn Mahdi narrated to us, who said: Hatim - meaning Ibn Isma'il - narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi 'Ubayd, who said: I heard Salamah ibn al-Akwa' say: I went out - and he mentioned something similar to the hadith of Makki, except he said: "and today is the day of reckoning," and he added: "and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made me ride behind him on his mount."
