He said, Hajjaj told us: Ibn Jurayj told me: Sulayman ibn Musa said: Zubayd informed me, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri came to his family and found a bowl of the dried meat of the sacrifice, and refused to eat it, and went to Qatada ibn al-Nu'man and informed him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had stood up and said, 'I had commanded you not to eat the sacrificial meat beyond three days so that it would suffice you all — but I now permit it to you, so eat of it as you wish, and do not sell the meat of the offering or the sacrificial animal — eat it, and give it in charity, and make use of its skins, and do not sell them; and if you are given some of its meat, eat it if you wish.' And in this narration from Abu Sa'id, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he added: 'Now eat, trade, and store up.' He said, Hajjaj told us, from Ibn Jurayj: Abu al-Zubayr informed me, from Jabir, similarly to this narration of Zubayd, from Abu Sa'id, except that not all of it reached him from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
