حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَبِي أَدْرَكَهُ الْإِسْلَامُ وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ رُكُوبَ الرَّحْلِ وَالْحَجُّ مَكْتُوبٌ عَلَيْهِ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ أَكْبَرُ وَلَدِهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِيكَ دَيْنٌ فَقَضَيْتَهُ عَنْهُ أَكَانَ ذَلِكَ يُجْزِئُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاحْجُجْ عَنْهُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Jarir told us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from Yusuf ibn az-Zubayr, from Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr, who said: A man from Khath'am came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "Islam found my father [still alive] while he is a very old man who cannot ride a mount, and Hajj has been made obligatory upon him — shall I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Are you his eldest child?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Do you see — if your father owed a debt and you paid it off on his behalf, would that discharge it for him?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then perform Hajj on his behalf."
