قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ وَهُوَ أَبُو مَالِكٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حِينَ قَرَأَ كِتَابَ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابِ قَالَ لِلرَّسُولَيْنِ فَمَا تَقُولَانِ أَنْتُمَا قَالَا نَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ لَا تُقْتَلُ لَضَرَبْتُ أَعْنَاقَكُمَا.

Ishaq b. Ibrahim al-Razi narrated to us: Salamah b. al-Fadl al-Ansari narrated to us: Muhammad b. Ishaq narrated to us: Sa'd b. Tariq al-Ashja'i, who is Abu Malik, narrated to me, from Salamah b. Nu'aym b. Mas'ud al-Ashja'i, from his father Nu'aym, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, when he had read the letter of Musaylimah the Liar, to the two messengers: "What do you two say?" They said, "We say as he said." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "By Allah, were it not that messengers are not killed, I would strike off both your necks."
