حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ اللَّجْلَاجِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ فِي السُّوقِ إِذْ مَرَّتْ امْرَأَةٌ تَحْمِلُ صَبِيًّا فَثَارَ النَّاسُ وَثُرْتُ مَعَهُمْ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَهَا مَنْ أَبُو هَذَا فَسَكَتَتْ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَبُو هَذَا فَسَكَتَتْ فَقَالَ شَابٌّ بِحِذَائِهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا حَدِيثَةُ السِّنِّ حَدِيثَةُ عَهْدٍ بِجِزْيَةٍ وَإِنَّهَا لَمْ تُخْبِرْكَ وَأَنَا أَبُوهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَى مَنْ عِنْدَهُ كَأَنَّهُ يَسْأَلُهُمْ عَنْهُ فَقَالُوا مَا عَلِمْنَا إِلَّا خَيْرًا أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْصَنْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِ فَذَهَبْنَا فَحَفَرْنَا لَهُ حَتَّى أَمْكَنَّا وَرَمَيْنَاهُ بِالْحِجَارَةِ حَتَّى هَدَأَ ثُمَّ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى مَجَالِسِنَا فَبَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَنَا بِشَيْخٍ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ الْفَتَى فَقُمْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَأَخَذْنَا بِتَلَابِيبِهِ فَجِئْنَا بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذَا جَاءَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ الْخَبِيثِ فَقَالَ مَهْ لَهُوَ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ رِيحًا مِنْ الْمِسْكِ قَالَ فَذَهَبْنَا فَأَعَنَّاهُ عَلَى غُسْلِهِ وَحَنُوطِهِ وَتَكْفِينِهِ وَحَفَرْنَا لَهُ وَلَا أَدْرِي أَذَكَرَ الصَّلَاةَ أَمْ لَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Sa'id, freedman of Banu Hashim, narrated to us: Muhammad b. Abdullah b. Ulathah narrated to us: Abd al-Aziz b. Umar b. Abd al-Aziz narrated to us: Khalid b. al-Lajlaj narrated that his father told him: While we were in the marketplace, a woman passed by carrying a boy. The people rushed forward and I rushed with them, until I reached the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who was saying to her, "Who is this child's father?" She remained silent. He said again, "Who is this child's father?" She remained silent. Then a young man standing next to her said, "O Messenger of Allah, she is young in age, newly under protection, and she has not told you — I am his father, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet turned to those around him as if asking them about him, and they said, "We know nothing but good of him," or words to that effect. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "Are you married?" He said, "Yes." So he ordered that he be stoned. We went and dug a pit for him until we had him secure, and we threw stones at him until he was still. Then we returned to our gatherings. While we were sitting like that, an old man came asking about the young man. We rose to him and seized him by his collar and brought him to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, this man has come asking about the wicked one." He said, "Stop — he is more fragrant with Allah than musk." He said: So we went and helped him with washing him, embalming him, and shrouding him, and we dug his grave for him, though I do not know whether he mentioned the funeral prayer or not.
