حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يُجْلَدُ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ جَلَدَاتٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى.

Hashim and Hajjaj narrated to us, they said: Layth - meaning Ibn Sa'd - narrated to us: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to us from Bukayr ibn Abdullah ibn al-Ashajj, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir ibn Abdullah, from Abu Burdah, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No one is to be flogged more than ten lashes except in a punishment among the punishments of God, the Exalted.
