Yazid ibn Harun told us, saying: Yahya informed us that Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi informed him, that Isa ibn Talhah ibn Ubaydullah informed him, that Umayr ibn Salamah al-Damri informed him, from a man of Bahz, that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, heading for Mecca, until, when they were at a part of Wadi al-Rawha', the people found a wild donkey lying slaughtered. They mentioned it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "Leave it be until its owner comes." Then the man of Bahz came, and he was its owner, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is yours to deal with, this donkey." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered Abu Bakr, and he distributed it among the traveling companions, while they were in the state of pilgrim consecration. He said: Then we went on until, when we were at al-Uthayah, we came upon a gazelle crouching in the shade, with an arrow lodged in it, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered a man to stand by it until the people had all passed it by.
