الترجمة الإنجليزية
Al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid said: 'During the time of the Messenger of Allah, the caliphate of Abu Bakr, and the early part of Umar's caliphate, a drinker would be brought to us and we would stand and strike him with our hands, sandals, and cloaks. Then in the early part of Umar's caliphate, he prescribed forty lashes. When the people became more insolent and sinful, he prescribed eighty lashes.'
