حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَطْرُقَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا.

Affan told us, Abu Awanah told us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nubayh al-Anazi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "None of you should come knocking upon his family unexpectedly by night."
