Abu al-Qasim ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, Ishaq ibn Hazim informed me, from Ibn Miqsam — he said, my father, that is 'Ubaydullah ibn Miqsam — from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said concerning the sea: "It is its water that is purifying, and its dead creatures are lawful to eat."
