حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ يَأْتِينِي بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ أَنَا ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ يَأْتِينِي بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ قَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ أَنَا قَالَ مَنْ يَأْتِينِي بِخَبَرِ الْقَوْمِ فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ أَنَا قَالَ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيٌّ وَإِنَّ حَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ.

Abu Nu'aym told us, Sufyan told us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Who will bring me news of the people on the day of the Confederates? Al-Zubayr said: I will. Then he said: Who will bring me news of the people? Al-Zubayr said: I will. He said: Who will bring me news of the people? Al-Zubayr said: I will. He said: Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is al-Zubayr.
