حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ وَصَلُّوا عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سَوَاءً.

Musa told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "When one of you shrouds his brother, let him do it well, and pray over the deceased with four takbirs, whether by night or by day, alike."
