حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْوَسْمِ فِي الْوَجْهِ وَالضَّرْبِ فِي الْوَجْهِ.

Yahya told us, from Ibn Jurayj: Abu al-Zubayr informed me, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us from branding on the face and striking on the face.
