Abdullah ibn Bakr told us, Humayd told us, from Anas, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was with one of his wives when one of the Mothers of the Believers sent a bowl containing food. The servant's hand struck it and the bowl fell and broke. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took the two broken pieces and began gathering the food into them, saying: "Your mother has become jealous, your mother has become jealous," and he said to the people: "Eat." And he kept the messenger until the other wife brought her own bowl, and the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, gave the intact bowl to the one whose bowl had been broken, and kept the broken one for the one who had broken it.
