حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ مَا زَمَانٌ يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا أَشَرُّ مِنْ الزَّمَانِ الَّذِي كَانَ قَبْلَهُ سَمِعْتُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Abu Nu'aym told us, Malik — meaning Ibn Mighwal — told us, from al-Zubayr ibn 'Adi, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: No time comes upon you except that it is worse than the time before it — I heard that from your Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
