الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Wahhab told us, from Sa'id, from Qatada, from Anas ibn Malik, that a Jew passed by the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions and said, 'Death be upon you.' The Prophet of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Do you know what he said?' They said, 'He greeted you with peace, O Messenger of God.' He said, 'No, rather he said such-and-such.' Then he said, 'Bring him back to me.' So they brought him back, and he said, 'Did you say, "Death be upon you"?' He said, 'Yes.' So the Prophet of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said at that: 'When one of the People of the Book greets you, say, "And upon you" - that is, "and upon you what you said."'
