Hasan ibn Musa told us, Sallam - meaning Ibn Miskin - told us, from Abu Zilal, from Anas ibn Malik, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "A servant in Hell will call out for a thousand years, ‘O Ever-Merciful, O Ever-Gracious!’ Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will say to Gabriel, peace be upon him, ‘Go and bring me this servant of Mine.’ So Gabriel will set out and find the people of the Fire prostrate, weeping, and he will return to his Lord and inform Him. He will say, ‘Bring him to Me, for he is in such-and-such a place.’ So he will bring him and stand him before his Lord, Mighty and Majestic. He will say to him, ‘O My servant, how did you find your place and your resting-place?’ He will say, ‘My Lord, the worst of places and the worst of resting-places.’ He will say, ‘Return My servant.’ He will say, ‘My Lord, I did not hope, when You brought me out of it, that You would return me to it.’ So He will say, ‘Leave My servant be.’"
