حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَنْبَرٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ لَأُحَدِّثَنَّكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ لَا يُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ الْعِلْمُ وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ وَيُشْرَبَ الْخَمْرُ وَيَظْهَرَ الزِّنَا وَتَقِلَّ الرِّجَالُ وَيَكْثُرَ النِّسَاءُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي الْخَمْسِينَ امْرَأَةً الْقَيِّمُ الْوَاحِدُ.

Abd al-Malik ibn Amr told us: Hisham - that is, ibn Sanbar, Abu Abdullah - told us, from Qatada, from Anas, who said: I will surely tell you a hadith that no one will tell you after me - I heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Among the signs of the Hour is that knowledge will be lifted away and ignorance will prevail, wine will be drunk, adultery will become widespread, men will become few and women numerous, until there is one caretaker for fifty women.
